ASUS does a really good job in manufacturing smartphones, we loved what they have accomplished with the Zenfone 2, and that it is our favorite phone under the Rs. 20,000 price mark. But what is Asus doing for the people who can't afford a Rs. 20,000 price mark you may ask, then we are pleased to tell you that after the Zenfone 5 Asus has brought us the ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser, It is their gift to the sub 10,000 Price Mark market, it supports 4G so people are future proof with this phone until 5G comes out here in India or Asus announces a new and better version next year with the launch of the Zenfone 3. Also the USP of the Zenfone 2 Laser is the laser-guided Autofocus that Asus has provided. So let us check is the phone worth the hype or not.

The Camera being the similar one put into the Asus Zenfone 2 we do not have to tell you how good the camera is, and you can also read that in our Zenfone 2 Review, but what we have to tell you is the new things that Asus has done with it's phone's camera. Though being small additions to the camera in the phone they make a pretty big diffrences and they are -
The technology that these days phones and cameras use is called the "Contrast Detection" technology and that means that the phone automatically focuses on the subject on the basis of how dark their contrast seem to be, though not being the most accurate system existing it still gets the work done. Now that this new technology of the Laser Focusing cameras has come in it makes the focusing more precise, what they do is the sensors emit many tiny infrared rays, which bounce back of the subject to the camera and the sensor can accurately detect the subject in a mere matter of nano seconds that is way faster than the normal autofocus.
Due to having a laser focus the phone has amazing low light photography due to the focus not depending upon the dark or light contrast that makes taking the photos very easy, and due to the camera having laser focus that will provide the camera with instant focus then you will never miss capturing a moment into your camera.
Dual Tone Flash helps the camera get depth in the lighting, and due to the camera having a Dual LED Flash the camera will never make those only white bland photos and that will make taking imagery more fun through the Zenfone 2 Laser rather than using any other smartphone.
The Camera was amazing to handle for the budget, i mean keeping all the big boy things like the Laser Focus the Dual Tone Flash aside what we get is a pretty decent camera for the budget lineup of the mobile phone market. What we felt was that the colours captured were great but we might say that the details were a bit of the problem and we are sure that it will be fixed in the future updates of the camera application. Still what you paid for is still less than what you get. Down you see some images taken by the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser
Though the downside of the laser focus that we faced while testing this phone out and also with the LG G Lineup is that it will work great with objects that are near but with far off objects you will just have to focus manually as it is a bit difficult for the Laser Focus to kick in. We faced problems after 10 Feet.
Well Asus with this phone has stirred us the most by shifting companies that provide the processor, that being from an Intel only processor company to having a Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor in one of it's phone. Not saying that it affects the performance or anything just that we were a bit shocked.
The performance of the Zenfone 2 Laser is great, and you’ll be able to play most games and multi-task without a problem.
Though we felt that the HD Screen was half cooked in this one as there was a yellowish tinge to the screen though that can be fixed with the contrast adjuster inbuilt into the phones software.
And, Mostly of all we have to commend the 3000mAh Battery as we could squeeze out a day of usage easily with 4G on. That is saying something. The Connectivity was also great on the Laser.
Amongst all the competition in the market the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser sets itself apart with the laser autofocus, dual tone flash, big battery, etc.
If you want a good camera phone when you are on a budget and also need good connectivity, with a great battery that will give you 1 day worth of full usage then the Zenfone 2 Laser is the way to go.
