Asus recently launched the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, a mid-range smartphone in India. All its competitors including the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and Honor 7X come with Face Unlock feature. So, Asus has now finally introduced face unlock in their new mid-range smartphone with an OTA update.
The OTA update rolled out by Asus weighs in at around 1.3GB for our units. However, the FOTA update for end users will be only 125MB and will directly jump from version 247 to 252. The software update provided to us carried each version upgrade file from 247 to 252.
The software update not only brings Face Unlock but also brings a few other features. The update brings in a few bug fixes and improvements here and there. The major improvement is with the camera app where Asus has made optimisations to colour correction, HDR mode and low light photography. Users have also reported that the Fingerprint response time has been improved.
