Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) receives new update: November security patch, camera improvements and more

Asus will roll out the Android Pie update for ZenFone Max Pro M1 soon

While Asus recently launched the ZenFone Max Pro (M2), its predecessor is still receiving the usual updates. It shows that the company does not forget the old smartphones once they launch the new ones. The new update is set to roll out starting 12 PM, December 19.

As far as the changelog is concerned, the new update brings in the November 2018 Google Security patch. Additionally, the update optimizes power consumption and the audio experience via headphones. Camera performance on video recording has also been improved. It also introduces compatibility improvements with Instagram.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) Specifications

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2180x1080 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. It packs in up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. All of this is backed by a massive 5,000mAh battery.

On the optics front, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 comes with a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 13-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

Meanwhile, Asus is working on the Android 9 Pie update for the popular ZenFone Max Pro M1. The update is scheduled to arrive in February 2019. It will bring all the changes introduced by Google including gesture based navigation, Adaptive battery and more.
