BlackBerry finally launched the much-awaited BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X. Here's everything you need to know
BlackBerry recently launched the BlackBerry KEY2 in India. Today, the company has come up with two more smartphones exclusively for the Indian markets. While the KEY 2 targeted a small group of people, with the new BlackBerry Evolve and Evolve X, BlackBerry is trying to go big. This time the smartphone manufacturer is trying to attract an even larger group of people.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Evolve is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC while the Evolve X comes with Snapdragon 660. Both the smartphones come with 64GB of internal storage. The Evolve and Evolve X pack in 4GB and 6GB of RAM respectively. Both the smartphones are backed by a 4,000mAh battery for which the company claims up to 2days of battery life. The smartphones also come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology for fast charging. The phones run on Android 8.1 Oreo and the company promises monthly updates with latest security patches.
On the optics front, the Evolve bears a 13-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back. Up front, there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
The BlackBerry Evolve is priced at Rs. 24,990 while the Evolve X comes with a price tag of Rs. 34,990.
BlackBerry is all about the security and the brand value. However, if you are someone who likes to give preference to performance, here are some better alternatives that you can look for.
BlackBerry Evolve X is priced at Rs. 34,990 which brings it in competition with the OnePlus 6. Unlike the Evolve X, the OnePlus 6 gets a much more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The smartphone is currently rated as one of the fastest Android smartphones. The device packs in up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
If you are someone who does not want to spend as high as Rs. 34,990 but also don't want to settle in for the BlackBerry Evolve, the Asus ZenFone 5Z deserves a look. Priced at Rs. 29,999, the ZenFone 5Z offers some great hardware including the Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The top-end variant of the ZenFone 5Z with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at Rs. 34,999.
Nokia 7 Plus is a great alternative to the BlackBerry Evolve. Where the Evolve comes with a Snapdragon 450 chipset, the Nokia 7 Plus gets a more powerful Snapdragon 660 chip. The latter smartphone is also a part of Google's Android One program which means the phone runs on stock Android and will receive updates every month. Nokia 7 Plus is available with a price tag of Rs. 25,999.
