Honor, a sub-brand of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei, is planning to launch another budget-oriented smartphone. The Honor 9 Lite will help the company in expanding its portfolio in China as well as in India. The company is gearing up to launch the Honor 9 Lite on December 21 in China. The smartphone might later make its way to the other markets. Surprisingly, the pricing information for the upcoming smartphone has been leaked.
According to The Tech Bulletin, the Honor 9 Lite will be introduced in two variants and will be priced at CNY 2,000 which roughly converts to Rs. 19,400 for the base 32GB variant while the 64GB variant will retail for CNY 2,400 roughly converting to Rs. 23,300. Notably, the CNY 2,400 price tag is similar to the recently launched Huawei Mate 10 Lite.

In terms of specifications, the Honor 9 Lite is said to feature a 5.65-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the company's homegrown Kirin 659 SoC which is an octa-core chipset clocked at 2.3GHz. The device will come in two storage variants, one with 32GB and the other with 64GB of internal storage. The storage on the device will be expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Honor 9 Lite will run on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and will be backed by a 2,900mAh battery.
On the optics front, the Honor 9 Lite will sport a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. Interestingly, the smartphone will sport the same set of dual cameras on the front as well.
