Honor 9i with four cameras and a FullView display launched in India

Honor, the sub-brand of Huawei, has unveiled the Honor 9i in India. The smartphone is basically a renamed Huawei Miamang 6 which was earlier announced in China. The unique selling proposition of the Honor 9i is the dual dual-camera setups making a total of four camera sensors present on the device. The smartphone also features an 18:9 aspect ratio display.

Commenting on the launch, P Sanjeev, Vice President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, said, “Honor is Huawei’s global e-brand. In India, Honor pioneered dual camera phones over the last 3 years. Our team has spent extensive time studying what consumers in this segment prefer and we have worked to raise the bar each and every time, creating industry’s new bench marks. Today with the launch of Honor 9i, we have ushered in 4-camera technology which is widely acclaimed for its excellent selfies and low light photography capabilities. We view Honor 9i as a never-before opportunity for consumers who wish to experience an outstanding product.”

Specifications

The Honor 9i is powered by the Huawei's Kirin 659 SoC coupled with Mali-T830 GPU. The smartphone features a 5.9-inch FullView display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The storage on the device is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a 3,340mAh battery powering up the device. The Honor 9i runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 layered on top of it out of the box.

On the optics front, the Honor 9i sports a dual-camera setup at the back with a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. Up front, the phone features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel and a 2-megapixel sensor.

Price and Availability

The Honor 9i is available exclusively via the e-commerce website Flipkart. The phone retails for a price of Rs. 17,999. The smartphone is available in Aurora Blue, Graphite Black and Prestige Gold colour options. The device will go on sale starting October 14.
