Intex has launched a new entry-level smartphone, the Intex Indie 5 in India. Here are some alternatives that offer better value.
Intex, an India based company has launched a new budget smartphone in the country. The Intex Indie 5 is an entry-level smartphone that supports 4G VoLTE and comes with a massive 4,000mAh battery. The handset is priced at Rs. 4,999 and will be available via both online and offline stores across the country.
In terms of specifications, the Intex Indie 5 packs in the MediaTek MT6737 SoC which is a quad-core CPU. The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. The dual-SIM handset comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is further expandable using a microSD card. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 4,000mAh battery providing the juice.
On the optics front, the Intex Indie 5 sports an 8-megapixel camera at the back with a LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with a selfie flash.

Nokia 1 features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with 854x480 resolution. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6737M processor paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Nokia 1 gets 8GB of storage which is expandable using a microSD card. The handset runs on Android Oreo (Go Edition). It is currently available in India for a price of Rs. 4,999.
