Lenovo has finally come up with a new set of smartphones after a while. The company has launched the Lenovo K5 and K5 Play. These are the first smartphones from Lenovo to sport an 18:9 display up front. Another highlight of the smartphones includes the dual camera setup at the back.
Lenovo K5 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1440 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6750V octa-core chipset. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. The handset runs on ZUI 3.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensor located at the back.
On the optics front, the Lenovo K5 sports a dual camera setup at the back. The dual cameras at the back include a 13MP primary lens with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary lens with f/2.2 aperture. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Lenovo K5 Play is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset. The smartphone sports a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 720×1440 pixels resolution. The device is available in two variants, 2GB RAM+16GB storage and 3GB RAM+32GB storage. Storage on the device is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on ZUI 3.7 based on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,000mAh battery.

In the camera department, the Lenovo K5 Play features a 13MP+2MP dual camera setup at the back. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
Lenovo K5 is launched at a price of CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 9,250) while the K5 Play comes with a price tag of CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 7,200). The Lenovo K5 will be made available in Elf Blue, Space Grey, and Star Black colour variants. The K5 PLay, on the other hand, will be available in Jazz Blue, Modern Gold, and Punk Black colour options. The K5 and K5 Play will be available in China starting April 10 and April 17 respectively. There is no word as to when the smartphones will make their way to other markets.
