Lenovo has announced the K80 smartphone with 4GB RAM and a powerful 4000mAh battery. The smartphone will be available from April 30 in China starting from $300 (approx.) for the 2GB variant and $400 (approx.) for the 4GB variant.
The Lenovo K80 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display. It is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom 1.8 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory expandable up to 128 GB. The smartphone has a 13 MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization, but no information has been provided about the front camera. Connectivity options included are 4G LTE, 3G, Bluetooth, USB and WiFi. It runs the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The handset is backed by a powerful 4000 mAh battery. The Lenovo K80 smartphone will be available in black, silver, and red. Lenovo hasn't revealed whether the smartphone will be launched in any other markets.
The Lenovo K80 will compete with the Asus ZenFone 2 which has similar features and price. The Asus ZenFone 2 has been launched in 4 variants in India exclusively via Flipkart. The ZenFone 2 comes in 4 variants priced between Rs 13,000 to Rs 23,000. Xiaomi's Mi Note Pro also comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory.
Lenovo recently launched the A5000 smartphone with 4000 mAh battery in Russia. It has a 5 inch 720p IPS display, quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.4. The smartphone has an 8MP auto focus rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
