LG Candy launched in India: Price, Specifications and Alternatives

LG Candy with IP68 rating launched in India for Rs. 6699. A good smartphone to conquer the Indian budget smartphone market.

LG India has launched a new budget smartphone, LG Candy in India. It is priced at Rs. 6,699 and will be made available starting September 1 in both online and offline markets. The USP of the device is its interchangeable backplate which helps the users customise the device as they want. The device is available in Blue, Silver, and Gold colour options, which the users can change even after purchasing the device thanks to the interchangeable back plates. Key features of the device include IP68 dust and water resistance rating, MIL-STD 810G certification, and facial recognition features.

Specifications:

LG Candy sports a 5-inch HD+ display with huge bezels on all four sides and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device features a separate microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB. It runs Google's Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system. All of this is backed by a 2,500mAh battery, which for the price seems decent enough.

Coming to the optics, LG Candy sports an 8-megapixel primary camera on the back paired with an LED flash. On the front, it features a 5-megapixel camera for selfies paired with an external flash.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A

Xiaomi Redmi 5A runs on Android Nougat-based MIUI

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is one of the most popular options when it comes to the entry-level smartphones. The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS LCD display and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. The dual-SIM handset comes with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage and it is available at a starting price of Rs. 5,999. We would highly recommend waiting for the Xiaomi Redmi 6A which is expected to launch on September 5.

10.or E

10.or E comes with a FullHD display

10.or E does not impress anyone in terms of the looks. However, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with up to 3GB of RAM. The device sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The smartphone is available at a starting price of Rs. 5,699.

Micromax’s sub-brand Yu has made a comeback to the smartphone industry with the launch of their new entry-level smartphone, the Yu Ace. The highlights of the smartphone include the 18:9 display and the 4,000mAh battery. With a price tag of Rs. 5,999, the Yu Ace is set to go on sale exclusively via Flipkart starting September 6.

Nokia 1

Nokia 1 comes in attractive colour variants

Nokia 1 is one of the first smartphones to come with Android Oreo (Go Edition). The smartphone features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display. It is powered by the entry-level MediaTek MT6737M processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The Nokia 1 gets 8GB of storage which is expandable using a microSD card. It is currently available in India for a price of Rs. 4,999.

Micromax Bharat Go

Just like the Nokia 1, Micromax Bharat Go also offers similar specifications. The major difference between the Bharat Go and Nokia 1 is the brand and the build quality. The Micromax Bharat Go is available for a price of Rs. 4,399.

Lava Z50

The Lava Z50 was one of the first Android Go Edition smartphones to enter the Indian market. Just like the Nokia 1, the Lava Z50 also comes with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display and the MediaTek MT6737M processor. What differs the two of them is the battery size and the cameras. Lava Z50 is up for sale in India with a price tag of Rs. 4,399.
