Micromax, the Indian smartphone manufacturer, has launched another smartphone under their budget 'Bharat' series. The all-new Bharat 5 is launched at a very affordable price and will be available at all retail stores making the smartphones more accessible. The company will also be launching the Bharat 5 Plus and Bharat 5 Pro in the coming months.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax Informatics said “Data affordability, connectivity and ease of using technology are the three barriers for the users to get a connected experience. With Bharat series, Micromax is truly helping the Indian consumers be digitally connected and make their experience more affordable and accessible. Bharat 5 like its predecessors will truly drive the next phase of smartphone adoption in the country, as a smartphone with 5000 Mah battery is pivotal for a market like India where the tier 3-4 cities still face severe power outage issues. Going ahead as well, we will be coming with compelling product propositions based on the needs of our consumers in the affordable smartphone segment”
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Micromax Bharat 5 features a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a massive 5,000mAh battery powering up the internals. The Bharat 5 runs on Android Nougat out of the box.
For optics, the Micromax Bharat 5 sports a 5-megapixel camera at the back with a LED flash. There is also a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
Micromax Bharat 5 is launched at a price of Rs. 5,555 and will be available at all offline retail stores in India. The company has also partnered with Vodafone to provide their customers with 50 GB of free data. For any existing or new customer of Vodafone who buys a new Micromax Bharat 5 and a 1GB Data pack will get additional 10 GB Data every month for a total of 5 months.
