Micromax Selfie 2 launched in India: Everything you need to know

Micromax India has officially launched a new selfie focused smartphone in India, calling it the Micromax Selfie 2. The unique selling point of the device is the 8-megapixel front facing camera with a soft flash, which can deliver quality selfie shots. Micromax Selfie 2 has a metallic body and is priced at Rs. 9,999.

 

Specifications

The Micromax Selfie 2 is powered by the 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset. The smartphone comes with 3GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 64GB using a microSD card. The device features a 5.2-inch HD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. All of this is backed by a 3,000mAh battery. Selfie 2 comes with a finger print scanner at the rear and all the basic connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

In the camera department, on the front, the smartphone flaunts an 8-megapixel Sony IM135 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 and a soft flash for better low-light shots. The front-facing camera supports real-time bokeh effect, a wide angle lens, and features like face beauty mode and one touch shot. The phone has 13-megapixel primary camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and comes with features like auto scene detection, super pixel, and panorama. The Selfie 2 also comes with a new application called Gallery 4.0, which has a feature to recognize a face so that you can easily search someone's picture from your gallery.

Pricing, Availability and Offers

The Micromax Selfie 2 comes with a price tag of Rs. 9,999. The smartphone will be made available at offline stores starting August 1. Micromax also offers a 100-day replacement guarantee, where the company promises to replace the smartphone if there is any damage.Also, the company states that this includes the one-year warranty period. We have seen the same 100-day replacement guarantee scheme on some of the feature phones in the company's portfolio.
