Nokia 3310 feature phone with 3G network support launched

HMD Global launched the Nokia 3310 a few months ago bring back the glorious days of feature phones. The Nokia 3310 instantly grabbed attention as its older variant was very popular at its own time. The revamped feature phone was initially introduced at the Mobile World Congress 2017. The new Nokia 3310 brought up new colour variants and an overhaul in terms of the looks and specifications. The one thing which did not change from the previous generation was the 2G network only. This is a major issue in 2017 where companies like Reliance Jio don't even offer 2G or 3G. However, Nokia came up with a solution and has finally announced the 3G compatible variant of the feature phone.

Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global, said “Our re-imagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G”

Telecom operators in the countries like Singapore and Australia have already ditched 2G network in lieu of 3G and 4G. While the 3G version of the feature phone was being launched, Pekka Rantala from HMD Global commented that they have already sold millions of units of the new Nokia 3310.
