Poco M2 Pro shows up on Xiaomi India's website, launch imminent

Poco M2 Pro was spotted on Xiaomi India's website alongside Redmi Note 9 and Mi 10 5G. Here's everything you need to know.

Poco is now expected to launch the Poco M2 Pro in India.

Poco spun-off as a separate entity as the year 2020 kicked off. Soon after the announcement, the company launched the Poco X2 in India, which was just a rebranded version of the Redmi K30. According to the rumours, the company is gearing up to finally launch the much-awaited Poco F2 Pro. However, a new leak has surfaced which claims that the upcoming Poco smartphone will be called Poco M2 Pro.

According to a recent report by MySmartPrice, Xiaomi has listed a new smartphone in its India RF page. The name 'Poco M2 Pro' was spotted in the list suggesting the smartphone is coming soon to the country. As the list does not include the anticip[pated Poco F2 or the F2 Pro, there are chances that the company is launching the F2 Pro as the M2 Pro in India.

Further, the list also reveals the device's model number - M2003J6CI along with its SAR value. However, the smartphone is no longer listed on the company's website anymore.

Apart from that, the report also states that the Redmi Note 9 was also spotted on the Xiaomi RF exposure page alongside the upcoming Mi 10 5G smartphone. Redmi Note 9 and Mi 10 5G are listed with model numbers M2003J15SI and M2001J21, respectively. Notably, it is the same Redmi Note 9 that was launched in the European market last week.

While the Mi 10 is already set to launch in India on May 8, the Redmi Note 9 was a bit surprising to see. Also, the Poco M2 Pro is something that has raised a lot of questions in our minds. We are not yet sure that whether it will be a debut in a whole different series or Poco just thought of going with the 'M' letter instead of 'F'.

In order to seek answers for those questions, we will need to wait for a confirmation from the company. This can be expected only when the Chinese manufacturer is ready to launch the smartphone in the country. Until then, this piece of news can be taken with a pinch of salt.
