One of the most popular games of 2017 on PC was the Player Unknowns Battlegrounds. It was one of the most streamed games last year on youtube and twitch. However, now the game is available on both Android and iOS in India, the US, and other countries. The game, commonly known as PUBG is right now free to download but is over 900mb in size. It has been developed by the games PC developer, Tenecent.
PUBG Mobile, the version launched on Android and iOS is basically the same as on PC. The game got a beta launch in Canada last Friday. However, now the game has been rolling out as a final build for many reasons. The very short testing period is likely because of its competition Fortnite. It is another online multiplayer battle royal style game. It was launched on iOS last month. Fortnite took the top spot from PUBG at the start of 2018. Since then it has skyrocketed with topping iTunes charts in 47 countries. According to the claims by the company, the Fortnite players have spent more than a million dollars on in-app purchases. What's more interesting is that the game is available on invite-only basis right now.
PUBG's competition Fortnite also skyrocketed when popular singer Drake participated in a Twitch live stream of the game. With PUBG popularizing the battle royale styled gameplay and Fortnite now stealing its success. The PUBG developers are looking for anything that can increase figured. That's the true reason for a short testing period, at least as we think.
PUBG Mobile runs on Unreal Engine 4. Its rounds support 100 players just like the PC version. It has also in-game commands to talk to other players. The company claims that the mobile variants also has powerful anti-cheat measures in place. Tencent Games recommends an iPhone 6 or above, and Android 5.1.1 and at least 2GB RAM. Also, anyone who ever played knows a good internet connection is a must.
We took a look at the PUBG mobile on Android. We used a Galaxy S8 for the purpose. On a high-end device like that the game ran extremely smooth. However being an avid PC gamer, playing on with the touchscreen controls are set back some people. For many, it will be a good rewarding session. The only thing that doesn't match the PC is PUBG mobile only has Third person perspective mode while the PUBG for PC offers Third person perspective as well as First person perspective.
