We have been hearing various reports that the gaming hardware manufacturer Razer is building a smartphone. This is now confirmed as the CEO Min-Liang Tan of the company during an interview with CNBC said that they are working on a smartphone that they hope to launch by the end of 2017.
During the interview, Tan said that this new smartphone that the company will be launching will be focused towards Entertainment and Gaming. Seeing the company's background we can say that this might be the smartphone to get if you are a gamer. We also think that this smartphone will come with a new specific chipset developed by the company itself to give the best in class performance.
I can say that we are coming up with a mobile device specifically geared towards gaming and entertainment. We are hoping to have it come by the end of the year,
said Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer
We knew that this was eventually going to happen after Razer acquired Nextbit earlier this year. However, we did think that the company would be launching the new mobile devices under the Nextbit branding. Which after the interview doesn't seem so.

He also said that the company is planning to go public later this year during which might be the time the company will launch the smartphone it is developing. He also said that with the IPO they will be getting fresh new funds which they can further invest in R&D to keep making cool products.
For now, we don't know how the device will look like, or at what price will the company launch it. So currently we can just wait and watch what the company does.
