Realme announced their Realme 2 in India. Here is what you need to know about the smartphone and some alternatives.
Oppo launched a new sub-brand with the name Realme a few months back. After the wild success of their first smartphone, the Realme 1 the company cut ties with its parent company to become an independent smartphone manufacturer. Now, the company has unveiled the Realme 2.
The Realme 2 is not a successor to the Realme 1. Instead, it is another smartphone by the company.
The smartphone sports a 6.2-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone sports a notched display to achieve the 19:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC coupled with 3GB or 4GB RAM depending on your variant.

For the optics, the Realme 2 sports a dual camera set up consisting of 13-megapixel f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back. for the selfies, there is an 8-megapixel f/2.2 aperture with AI capabilities for better selfies and Face Unlock.
The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Color OS skin on the top. The smartphone also sports a rear fingerprint sensor which the Realme 1 missed out on. All of this is backed by a 4230mAh battery.
The Realme 2 will be available as a Flipkart exclusive. The smartphone will cost Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant while the bigger 4GB RAM and 64
GB storage variant will cost Rs 10,990. The smartphone will be available Diamond black, Blue, and Solar Red starting September 4th at 12 Noon.
The 10.or G sports a better camera than the Realme 2. Along with that, it sports no notch. However, it has a 16:9 aspect ratio display with huge bezels, however, it has a more premium build with metal back instead of plastic on the Realme 2. Also, the 10.or G runs on stock Android and sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 compared to Realme 2's Snapdragon 450. The lower price of the 10.or G compared to the Realme 2 should put the smartphone ahead of the Realme 2.
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is one of the best mid-range smartphones right now. Sure the ZneFone Max Pro M1 does not sport a diamond design or a notch up front. However, what you get is a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset coupled 3GB, 4GB or even 6GB of RAM. Unlike the RealMe 2, this one runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo. The whole package comes in at a starting price of Rs. 10,999 while the top-end variant costs Rs. 14,999.
