Realme 5 Pro, Realme XT OTA update brings April 2020 security patch and other new features

The update brings the latest April 2020 security patch for Android for both phones.

Realme has started rolling out new OTA updates with Android's April 2020 security patch for its Realme 5 Pro and Realme XT smartphones. The Realme 5 Pro update comes with a build number RMX1971EX_11.C.03, whereas, the build number of XT is RMX1921EX_11.C.04.

The updates are being rolled out in a phased manner to avoid server congestion and to ensure the stability of the updates.

The company announced about the rollouts on its official community website.

The update brings the latest April 2020 security patch for Android for both phones. Other features include the addition of DocVault ID feature, audio quality optimisation for third-party apps. For dark mode, the company has added an arrow to the right of the list of recent location information requests.

Apart from the new features, the updates bring fixes for various bugs like stopping the prompt tone from appearing every time when music is played, alarm getting turned off after clearing it from background tasks, and more.

To check if your smartphone has got the update or not, you can head over to the settings panel, then open the Software Upgrade tab and tap on check for update. If the update appears, you can click on download update. This will start downloading the update onto your phone. After the download is complete, your device will prompt you to install the update. Once pressed, it will restart and start installing the update. After the installation is finished, your phone will turn on with the new software.

For the users who did not get the upgrade prompt can decide to wait for a wider rollout or can simply download and install the update files from the company's website manually.
