Samsung has just launched another budget-oriented smartphone in India, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018). The company launched the smartphone in order to compete against the likes of 10.or E and Xiaomi Redmi 5. The Samsung smartphone has launched for Rs. 8,190 and will be available in Black, Gold and Pink colour variants.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC which is a quad-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz. The device packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Galaxy J2 (2018) runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is backed by a 2,600mAh battery.
If the specs of the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) failed to impress you, here are some alternatives
Amazon India launched the 10.or G a couple of months ago and currently, the smartphone is available for as low as Rs. 7,999. The Rs. 7,999 price tag makes it a much better option than the Samsung Galaxy J2 which retails for Rs. 8,190. Firstly, 10.or G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 which is way better than the Snapdragon 425. Also, the 10.or G sports a larger 5.5-inch FullHD display. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
If you are interested in buying a more modern looking phone then the Xiaomi Redmi 5 should be your pick. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The Redmi 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC. This makes the Redmi 5 a much better package than the Galaxy J2 (2018).
