The South Korean giant, Samsung, on Wednesday finally unveiled the most awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 8. It is the first Galaxy Note smartphone since 2015, as the Galaxy Note 7 which was launched in 2016 was mass recalled. We do feel that this new Galaxy Note smartphone will help Samsung claim its throne back in the big display smartphone category. the main attraction of today's launch was the S-Pen which has improved a lot and can do much more than before.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 sports a 6.3-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, which is an Infinity Display as seen on the Galaxy S8 and S8+. The beautiful display on the Galaxy Note 8 will be something to talk about as it comes with minimal bezels and the company's Always-on-Display feature. The phablet runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC for the USA & China variants, whereas other regions will get their Note 8 with an Exynos 8895 Octa-core chipset.
The smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM and there are three storage variants- 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The onboard storage on the Galaxy Note 8 is expandable using a microSD card. The device is IP68 certified making it dust and water proof. All of this is backed by a 3,300mAh battery. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the company's own custom skin on top.

S-Pen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with a ton of new features and improvements. The new S-Pen has a finer tip and is more accurate than before. This brings a new feature called live messages where people can express their feeling is writing on a picture or just writing a text and can share it with friends. The screen-off memo which was available before is now made better than before. The new S-Pen can also translate language, currency or units just by hovering it on the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the first Samsung smartphone to feature a dual camera setup at the back. It is also the first smartphone to have OIS on both the cameras at the back. The phablet sports a 12-megapixel dual-camera setup at the back with Optical Image Stabilization, Phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom and a dual tone LED flash. Up front, the phone comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will start from $960 said Verizon, a telecom operator in the United States of America. The device will come in four colour variants: Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Grey, and Deep Sea Blue. It will go on sale on September 15 in the U.S., however, the company will start taking pre-orders from August 24. There is currently no word on the global availability of the device.
Consumers who purchase a Galaxy Note 8 between August 24, 2017, and September 24, 2017, get their choice of a free Samsung Gear 360 camera ($229.99 retail value) or a free Galaxy Foundation kit with Samsung 128GB EVO+ memory card and Fast Wireless Charging Convertible ($189.98 retail value).
