Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) launched: Everything you need to know

Samsung, the South-Korean giant, has unveiled a new tablet in India, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. The company is flaunting the tablet as the "entertainment powerhouse". The tablet falls under the mid-range category of tablets and is a successor of the last year's Galaxy Tab A (2016). The new tablet also comes with the company's new Bixby Home feature.

Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) features an 8-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. The Tab A comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. Under the hood, the device acks in a massive 5,000mAh battery. The tablet runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Samsung's own UI layered on top of it out of the box.

On the optics front, the Tab A (2017) sports an 8-megapixel camera at the back with f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash. Up front, the tablet features a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

Price, Availability and Offers

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017) is currently priced at Rs. 17,990 and will be available via both online and offline stores starting today. The tablet is available in two colours, Black and Gold.

With the purchase of the tablet, Samsung is also offering 180GB of extra 4G data for a year on Reliance Jio. Also, if the customers make the purchase between October 10 and November 19, customers will be eligible to get one-time screen replacement which will be valid for a year.
