Samsung has officially launched a new tablet, calling it the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2. The highlight of the new tablet is its rugged design. Samsung has been launching smartphones in the Active series including the S7 Active and S8 Active and now here is a full-size rugged tablet in the series. The tablet is currently launched in Netherlands for a price of EUR 500 which roughly converts to Rs. 39,000. The Tab Active 2 is most likely to go on sale starting November end.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 sports a display that supports touch with even gloves on. The tablet also comes with an IP68 certification making it dust and water resistant. This new tablet from Samsung also features Bixby voice assistant and comes with a support to S Pen.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 sports an 8-inch TFT display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The tablet is powered by the Exynos 7880 chipset which is an octa-core processor. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable using a microSD card. Under the hood, there is a 4,450mAh battery powering up the device. The Ta Active 2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with Samsung's own UI layered on top of it out of the box. The tablet also includes a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 features an 8-megapixel camera at the back with a LED flash. Up front, the device comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
