Sharp, the Japanese electronics giant has launched a new smartphone. The Sharp Aquos S3 Mini is another mid-range smartphone from the company that has launched in China. The smartphone is priced at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs 16,500). The Sharp S3 Mini can be pre-ordered via the Chinese online store, JD.com.
The Sharp Aquos S3 Mini reminds me of a lot of key features seen on other Android smartphones. The notch up top reminds of the Essential Phone as it also comes with a small notch just for the front camera. Below the display, the home key or fingerprint scanner reminds me of the Huawei Mate 10. Flipping the phone around, the rear camera setup looks a lot identical to what we have seen on the LG Nexus 5.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Sharp Aquos S3 Mini is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch TFT display with a resolution of 2040x1080 pixels and a weird 17:9 screen aspect ratio. The device packs in 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,020mAh battery powering up the internals.
