Sony, today introduced its WS623 sports Walkman in India. The new music player from Sony has been priced at Rs. 8,990. The WS623 is IP65/68 approved for dust and water resistance. Sony has come up with a new design for the Walkman to make it slimmer and lighter, they also have provided NFC and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity options in the earphones itself.
The company claims that this new Walkman is salt waterproof, the customer can wear this while swimming up to a depth of 2 meters for a total of 30 minutes. Along with being waterproof the music player is also dustproof, which the company claims is ideal to use at the beach. Sony is also providing earbuds which are covered in a thin film to provide protection from water. Users of these headphones can also adjust the sound levels for underwater listening. The company also, claims that the Walkman can withstand temperatures from -5-degree centigrade up to 45-degree centigrade.
These new earbuds from Sony weigh in at only 32 grammes. The design has been kept minimalistic due to which the customers get a slim and lightweight pair of earphones. These earphones also, come with an Ambient Sound Mode, which cancels out the noise with the help of its inbuilt microphones. These wireless pair of earbuds along with Bluetooth also support NFC for one-touch pairing.
Users can either utilise the wireless capabilities of the WS623 Walkman or, he/she can utilise the 4GB internal storage that the earbuds come with.
Sony claims that these earbuds will be giving you a 60-minute music playback in just three minutes of charging. Overall the device has promised a 12-hour battery life.
The Sony WS623 Walkman will be going on sale in India from June 15 and will be priced at Rs. 8,990.
