Motorola finally launched the much awaited Moto E5 and E5 Plus in India today. Both the smartphones pack in some entry-level specifications. The key highlights of the Moto E5 Plus are its massive 5,000mAh battery and the Moto Display. Even with all these highlights, the latter smartphone does not make a perfect package. Here are the top 5 reasons why you should avoid the Moto E5 Plus.

Display

The Moto E5 Plus features a 6-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Though having an 18:9 display is a plus point, the smartphone comes with an HD+ display while most smartphones at the similar price range offer FullHD+ display. Also, the display density of the E5 Plus is much lower than what its competitors offer.

Cameras

The Moto E5 Plus sports a 12-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.0 aperture and a LED flash. The camera setup sounds fine on paper. However, when you look at the competition, smartphones like Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and 10.or G are offering a dual-camera setup. Dual-camera setups help in getting better portrait shots.

Performance

The Moto E5 Plus is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC coupled with the Adreno 308 GPU. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. Just by looking at the paper, we can say that the smartphone is way more underpowered than its competitors.

Moto E5 Plus has launched at a price of Rs. 11,999 in India. Considering that the smartphone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, the phone seems to be a bit overpriced. The competition including the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 come with a much better Snapdragon 600-series processor. These phones also come with a FullHD+ display. Overall, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is able to offer better value for your money when compared to the E5 Plus.
