Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is launching two new smartphones, the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi 7 on January 10. Here's what you need to know
While Xiaomi recently announced that they will make the Redmi series as a whole new sub-brand now, we have been witnessing a lot of leaks and rumours. The company is set to launch the first smartphone under the sub-brand Redmi on January 10. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming smartphones.
Xiaomi is now planning to go aggressive on the cameras with their sub-brand Redmi. The company has released enough teasers to point out on an upcoming smartphone with a 48-megapixel camera at the back. Redmi series, which were known for the budget line-up will now come with decent cameras as well. However, this will lead to confusing users as Redmi 6 was a budget phone but Redmi 7 is coming in as photography focused phone.
Xiaomi has been in the news lately due to the upcoming launch event in Bejing, China, which is set to begin at 2PM (local time) on January 10. As the company recently announced that Redmi is now a sub-brand instead of just a smartphone series, we can expect a few new smartphones under the new sub-brand on the launch date.
With the launch of a new smartphone, Xiaomi is also bringing a whole new processor in the line-up. Qualcomm's recently launched Snapdragon 675 chipset will be powering up the upcoming Redmi 7. This will also make the Redmi 7 one of the first smartphones to come with the latest chip. The processor is based on the 11nm process and it comes equipped with a Hexagon DSP.

While most Redmi phones have been featuring very similar design till date, the upcoming phones are going to change the game. With the upcoming Redmi 7, the company is bringing a water drop notch and a gradient back design.
