Top five Android Go smartphones: Nokia 1 to Moto E5 Play

Google's Android Go helps in bringing down the cost of smartphones. Here's a list of top five smartphones which run on Google's Android Go.

Google's Android Go is meant to run on smartphones with a low amount of resources.

Google's Android operating system is now much more effective and efficient compared to any of its previous versions. Thus, making the specifications needed to run the operating system be much more minimal. To take the efficiency to the next level Google under its Android Go initiative has released much more light versions of Android 8.0 Oreo and Android 8.1 Oreo. These operating systems under the initiative are much more bare bones as compared to the full versions and have additional supplementary apps which are also bare-bones versions of the full apps to take the load. This, in turn, is bringing down the cost of smartphones and is making them available to the masses. Here is a list of the top five smartphones that run Google's Android Go operating system.

Nokia 1

Nokia 1 comes in a pretty small form factor

Nokia 1 is one of the first smartphones to get Android Oreo (Go Edition). The smartphone features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with 854x480 resolution. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6737M processor paired with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Nokia 1 gets 8GB of storage which is expandable using a microSD card. Lava Z50

The Lava Z50 was one of the first Android Go Edition smartphones to enter the Indian market. Just like the Nokia 1, the Lava Z50 also comes with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display and the MediaTek MT6737M processor. What differs the two of them is the battery size and the cameras. Lava Z50 is up for sale in India with a price tag of Rs. 4,399.

Micromax Bharat Go

Micromax Bharat Go is one of the cheapest options when it comes to Android Go smartphones

Following the footsteps of the Nokia 1 and Lava Z50, Micromax also offers similar specifications in its Bharat Go smartphone. The major difference between the Bharat Go and Nokia 1 is the brand and the build quality. The Micromax Bharat Go is available for a price of Rs. 4,399.

Moto E5 Play

Moto E5 Play is just another entry-level Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone

Motorola has recently announced its answer to the Android Go Edition smartphones. The Moto E5 Play is soon getting an Android Oreo Go Edition variant which will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC.
