Twitter, the social networking site, recently announced the Twitter Lite application on android which will help people staying in areas with slow internet connections or people using older smartphones. The company has now expanded the availability of the Lite application by introducing it to 24 more countries.
The application was initially introduced in the Philippines for a test period and now the Twitter Lite app should be available at the Google Play Store in: Algeria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Malaysia, Nigeria, Nepal, Panama, Peru, Serbia, El Salvador, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, Tanzania, and Venezuela.
The application is optimized in such a way that it uses very less storage on your smartphone and can even run at 2G speeds making it convenient for those who live in countries with slow internet connections. These kinds of Lite applications have also been developed by other companies like Google and Facebook for YouTube Go and Facebook Lite respectively. Facebook even introduced Messenger Lite which is a Lite version of their popular Messenger application.

Twitter product manager, Jesar Shah, announced in a blog post yesterday that the Twitter Lite app is rolling out in 24 more nations.
