Vivo X21 UD launching in India on May 29: Here's what to expect

Vivo X21 UD also sports a notch up front

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Vivo launched the Vivo X21 UD a few months ago. The Vivo X21 UD was one of the first smartphones to come with an under-display fingerprint scanner. Vivo is now gearing up to bring the smartphone to India on May 29.

A few sources have confirmed to India Today that the Vivo X21 UD will make its way to India on May 29. Also, the company has rolled out media invites for an upcoming event. The invite reads "see you on May 29, 2018" and also has a huge X designed which confirms that an X-series smartphone from the company is launching on May 29.

The Vivo X21 UD is the second smartphone to come with an under display fingerprint scanner, first being the Vivo X20 Plus. Vivo likes to call this technology ClearID and it uses the FS9500 sensor by Synaptics. The sensor is available in a limited area of the screen where the user can put down his finger in order to unlock the smartphone.

Specifications

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Vivo X21 UD is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The smartphone features a 6.28-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The device packs in 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of onboard storage. The storage is further expandable using a microSD card.

The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,200mAh battery with support for Fast Charging.

On the optics front, the Vivo X21 UD sports a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 12MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Up front, there is a 12-megapixel selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.0.

As for the connectivity, the Vivo X21 UD supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, FM Radio and a microUSB port.
