Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched another smartphone in India, the Vivo Y83. The company is planning to expand its portfolio and also trying to take on the budget segment which is currently being dominated by Xiaomi. The Vivo Y83 is priced at Rs. 14,990 and will be available via online as well as offline markets.
Commenting on the launch in India, Jerome Chen, CMO, Vivo India said, "We are pleased to introduce the Vivo Y83 in our Y series product portfolio with an outstanding performance and superior camera capabilities at an ideal price point."
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Vivo X83 features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a notch. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P20 processor. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based FunTouch OS 4.0 out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,260mAh battery powering up everything.
In the camera department, the Vivo X83 features a 13-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.

The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB of onboard storage which is further expandable using a microSD card. The Redmi Note 5 Pro currently starts at a price of Rs. 14,999.
Asus recently launched the ZenFone Max Pro M1. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display. The dual-SIM handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 comes in 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB variants. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 10,999 for the 32GB variant while the 64GB variant retails for Rs. 12,999.
When compared to the Vivo Y83, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is slightly expensive. However, by paying an extra Rs. 2,000 you get a much better display from a teir one brand. The Galaxy J7 Pro features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is currently available at a price of Rs. 16,900.
