Telecommunication giant Vodafone, taking on Jio and Airtel launched a new plan today. After the Jio's entry into the market, companies are discounting internet plan prices to remain relevant in the market. Vodafone is now offering 30GB of Internet data along with another freebie at Rs 399. However, the plan is available only to select customers.
The plan is only available to Vodafone RED postpaid customers only. The plan is available at Rs 399 and offers premium benefits such as unlimited local and STD calls. This includes free national roaming and 100 SMSes along with 30GB 3G/ 4G monthly data. Also, the customers who are moving from prepaid and other carriers, they will get 200GB for the first month.
Just like other plans by the company, the Rs 399 Vodafone RED exclusive plans have capped unlimited calls. The calls in the plan are capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. The new plan also includes Vodafone RED Shield. It is a device insurance. It offers clams to protect your smartphone from accidental damage and offer theft insurance.
Customers who are switching to the new Vodafone RED Rs 399 plan can easily do so. They will have to just 199 from their mobile phone. However, after the completion of six billing cycles, the customer will be charged Rs. 499. This is an increase of Rs 100 from the Rs 399 price. The official Vodafone site is yet to be updated with the new plan. However, the new Rs 399 plan is currently not available in all the cities. If you live in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, you can't avail this plan.

The company launched the RED Basic plan last year in November. It was available for its postpaid subscribers at Rs 399. The old plan has primary benefits, including unlimited local and STD calls, free incoming on national roaming, 10GB data, and data roll over.
The new Vodafone RED plan offer gives the company a better positioning. With companies like Jio giving its customers get 30GB of 4G data at 1GB per day with the Rs 309 postpaid plan. Airtel, on the other hand, offers 20GB data per 30-day billing cycle. The airtel plan also costs Rs 399 per month and is called myInfinity postpaid plan.
