WhatsApp finally gets Group Video and Group Voice calling: Here's how to use

WhatsApp Group Video and Voice Calls will soon be available for iOS

WhatsApp has been planning to launch the group video calling and group voice calling feature for a while now. The company has finally rolled out an update for their Android Beta app where Beta users can start testing out the feature. The feature is currently limited to the beta version of the app but it will soon make its way to the stable Android and iOS versions.

The latest WhatsApp Beta version for Android is at v2.18.192. If you are already a beta tester, you should see an update available in the Google Play Store. However, if you want to become one you can simply head over to the Play Store, search for WhatsApp and scroll all the way down to find the beta program. Sadly, the Beta Programme is currently full which means you might need to wait for a few days. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new feature will also make its way to the Windows phone version of the app

  • Update the WhatsApp Beta for Android app to its latest version using Google Play Store
  • Open the app and select a person you want to initiate the call with
  • Call him/her using the Video Call or Voice Call button shown on the top
  • Once the call gets connected, add another participant by clicking on the  ‘Add participant’ icon on the top right'

In other news, WhatsApp is currently working on launching a new Windows app. The app will basically act as a better version of the Web app by bringing features like Voice Calling and Video calling on board.
