WhatsApp is yet again working on a new feature for the iOS version of the app. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the upcoming update will let the app show the profile picture of the contact in the notification itself. The feature is already available on the Android version of the app. This will help users to better understand who is texting them without needing to open the application.

The Facebook-owned giant is currently working on the new feature and there is no official word as to when it will be made available for the users. This will be one of the first feature updates in 2022 and it will use APIs in iOS 15 to show the WhatsApp profile images in notifications on both top-screen banners as well as the Notification Center.

As of now, the feature seems to be available only to a limited number of testers and it should be available to the masses in the coming weeks. If you are excited about the feature, you should keep an eye on updates for WhatsApp on the Apple App Store.

Besides that, WhatsApp is also working on a UI change for the iOS app. The Facebook-owned application will soon be removing the 'Broadcast List' and 'New Group' option in the chats screen on the iPhone app. The two options will now be placed under the new chat option in order to give the app a cleaner look.
