WhatsApp update brings Apple CarPlay Integration and more for iPhone

Messaging giant, WhatsApp recently updated their iOS version of the application. This new update helps iPhone users to connect with in-vehicle connectivity systems. WhatsApp can now connect to your car using Apple Car Play. The latest update, WhatsApp v2.18.2 for iPhone enables the push notification feature to help you communicate with your friends on the go.

What does the new update bring for WhatsApp users?

Previously, with the help of Siri integration, the users were able to send and receive messages on the go. But with the new update, users can directly keep in touch with their friends on the go. This is done via push notifications now. A dedicated icon for WhatsApp icon is now available in the CarPlay dash to enable easy access. With the help of this new feature, users can easily read their new messages from their CarPlay dashboard directly without touching their smartphone. Users then can ask Siri to read them aloud if they wish to concentrate on the road more. They also can also Siri so reply to these messages.

Users can download the latest version of WhatsApp for iPhone via the App Store. Although, the official changelog mentioned on the app page doesn't say anything. However, according to a report by the team at iCulture reports that it is indeed a new feature. They also say that it has just been launched in this new version. The integration is quite similar to what we have seen with iMessages. However, unlike iMessage, this implementation doesn't let the user read the entire conversation. It only shows the latest unread messages.

Many bug companies such as Pioneer and Sony are already in CarPlay. They are already offering in-car audio systems which support Apple CarPlay. Although, automakers including Ford, are also bringing their in-car entertainment system along with Apple CarPlay. The adoption of Apple CarPlay is still a lot less than expected.
