Microsoft has started teasing its next-generation Xbox gaming console. This comes during the company facing major backlash from its customers regarding the price increase of its Game Pass service, and the high price of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally/Ally X.

Recently, a lot of rumours have been circling the market of Microsoft exiting the gaming console market, and focussing on third party. However, Xbox president Sarah Bond told Variety, that the company has no plans to stop making gaming consoles, and is currently hard at work getting its next generation console ready for the market.

During the same interview, Bond also mentioned that the ROG Xbox Ally/Ally X price was decided completely by Asus, and that Xbox did not have any say in that. While she stated that it was a successful launch, the overall market sentiment is that the products, especially the X variant is extremely overpriced.

Coming back to the next-gen Xbox game console, Bond during the interview stated, "We are 100 percent looking at making things in the future … We have our next-gen hardware in development. We've been looking at prototyping, designing. We have a partnership we've announced with AMD around it, so that is coming."

Bond further stated that with multiple offerings like the next-gen Xbox, the handheld, and more they want to "make sure that people have a choice," for gamers and non-gamers alike. With a wide array of products with varying specifications and forms, the company will be able to cater to all customers, whether they want the best of performance, or just a fun experience during a casual gaming session.

Microsoft has been using its game pass service a lot, and is now also focusing on third-party products, due to which it makes us believe that this is the last chance that the company is willing to give to its own Xbox game console, which if fails might be discontinued altogether.
