Xiaomi recently launched their latest mid-range smartphone, the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India. While it is quite similar to its predecessor, it does bring some incremental changes such as the notched display. The company has now given a price cut to the predecessor, Redmi Note 5 Pro. Here's why it makes a better buy right now.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is now available at a price of Rs. 12,999 in oppose to its MRP of RS. 15,999 for the base variant. The 6GB RAM variant is now available for a price of Rs. 13,999. The top end variant was launched with a price tag of Rs. 17,999. The new pricing is effective starting today across Mi.com, Flipkart, Amazon India and offline stores.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro features a 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with the Adreno 509 GPU. It packs in 4GB or 6GB of RAM coupled with 64GB of onboard storage. The storage is further expandable using a microSD card. It runs on Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 out of the box. All of this is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
On the optics front, the Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with a dual-camera setup at the back consisting of a 12-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.
