Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets a price hike: Here are Top 3 Alternatives

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is one of the most selling smartphones in the mid-range segment. Due to the recent PCBA import duty hikes, Xiaomi was forced to increase prices of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. Now the 4GB+64GB variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is available for Rs. 14,999.

At launch, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant. However, the prices of the 6GB+64GB variant remain the same at Rs. 16,999.

Asus recently unveiled the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and it directly competes against the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. The ZenFone Max Pro M1 is currently priced at Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 12,999 for the 3GB+32GB and the 4GB+64GB variant respectively. There is also going to be a 6GB+64GB variant available soon at a price of Rs. 14,999.

Xiaomi Mi A1 makes a great alternative for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Though the smartphone does not have an 18:9 panel, the Mi A1 does offer a lot for the price. At Rs. 13,999, the Xiaomi Mi A1 brings stock Android 8.0 Oreo experience. The smartphone packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The Mi A1 also sports a dual-camera setup at the back.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro is currently priced at Rs. 18,990 which is quite higher than the price of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. However, if you look for any upcoming sales or go to nearby Samsung Retail store you might be able to pick one up for around Rs. 16,000. The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro offers an amazing Super AMOLED display and brings the brand value as well.
