Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, is set to add up a new smartphone to its Redmi line-up.The smartphone is launching today in China and here is what to expect from the device. The launch will begin at 7:30 pm CST (5 pm IST). As per the CEO of Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 5A will sport a 16-megapixel front camera with LED flash and will have a dedicated microSD card slot.
According to some previous leaks and rumours, the Redmi Note 5A is said to feature a 5.5-inch display. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. On the optics front, the phone will sport a 13-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash. Up front, the phone is most likely to come with a 16-megapixel camera and a soft flash. The phone will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and all of this will be backed by a 3,000mAh battery. It is also said that the phone will feature a USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to launch with a price tag of CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 9,500). It is also being rumoured that the phone will come in two variants - Pro and Prime. However, we don't have any word on the availability of the smartphone. Today we will also be covering the launch of the Redmi Note 5A.
