Xiaomi sells 100 million smartphones in India, to celebrate by allowing users to remove ads from MIUI

Xiaomi has sold over 100 million devices in India.

Xiaomi is currently one of the most popular brands in India. The company not only sells smartphones but also has a huge portfolio, which includes TVs, smart bands, backpacks, trimmers and more. While the portfolio includes all types of products, the company has done extremely well at selling smartphones and they are now celebrating 100 million smartphones sold in India.

Commenting on this occasion, Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi and Managing Director, Xiaomi India said, “It’s indeed a joyous occasion for us at Xiaomi India. It's a testament to the love we have received from millions of Mi Fans since our inception. There have been brands who entered the market before us, yet are nowhere close to the astounding feat we have achieved.”

“I am extremely thankful to our 100 million smartphone users and we promise to keep working hard on delivering impeccable user experience across product, after-sales and retail verticals. We believe this is just the beginning of a brand new chapter, and we will continue to bring in more categories and products with best specs, highest quality at honest pricing for all our Mi Fans,” he further added.

Xiaomi has been the leading smartphone brand in India for the past eight consecutive quarters. It has achieved a market share of 28.31 percent for Q2 2019 as per IDC. Redmi 6A and Redmi Note 7 Pro were the top two best-selling smartphones in the industry for Q2 2019.

In order to celebrate this occasion, the company is planning to roll out an update to its MIUI devices. This update will bring a toggle that will allow users to disable the ads all across the user interface.
