Amazon Echo Devices now available on Amazon.in and leading retail stores

Amazon recently launched the Amazon Echo devices including the Echo Dot, Echo and Echo Plus in India. The devices were initially made available only to the Amazon Prime users in India. The company has now made the devices available for purchase to all the Amazon customers. The Echo devices are now also available at leading retail stores in the country.

“We are grateful to the customers across India who have helped create the Alexa experience during the invite phase,” said Jayshree Gururaj, Director - Amazon Devices.

He further added, “We are excited to make Alexa and our Echo devices available for all customers, and we can’t wait to hear about their experiences. Since Alexa runs in the cloud, she is always getting smarter – the Alexa experience in India continues to evolve with new features, even better speech recognition, new localised skills, expanded music selection, and more.”

Amazon Echo devices are smart speaker offerings from the company. Alexa, the built-in assistant, helps in answering any question you throw at it. The speaker also uses services like Amazon Prime Music to play the music asked by the user. Users can also make and receive calls for which they will need to install the Alexa app on their Android and iOS devices. Interestingly, users can also shop online from Amazon by just giving a command to Alexa and the payment will be done using the Amazon Pay balance.
