Huawei is about to add another smartphone to its portfolio, dubbing it as the Huawei Mate 10. As the Mate 10's launch is around the corner, we are being greeted by a lot of leaks, rumours and teasers. Recently, Huawei rolled out a teaser showing that the device will sport a Leica-branded dual-camera setup at the back. This will add the smartphone to the company's Leica-branded smartphone family.
The teaser of the Mate 10 by Huawei also confirms that the device will be unveiled on October 16, 2017. The confirmations do not end with just the Leica-branding, but we have also got a clue on the camera placement on the back of the Mate 10. Just like the predecessor Mate 9, the Mate 10 will also sport a vertical dual-camera setup at the back on the middle of the smartphone. Talking about the picture quality of the delivered by the Mate 10's camera, the teaser video flaunted some images captured by the Mate 10 camera highlighting colour contrasts, Bokeh effects, among other things.
The teaser also confirms that the camera sensor on the Mate 10 will be a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor, which something similar to what we have seen with the company's Mate 9 and P9.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Mate 10 is said to be powered by the Huawei's own HiSilcon Kirin 970 chipset. The phone is said to feature a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Huawei's CEO also claimed that the Mate 10 will be a direct competition to the Apple iPhone 8. The Mate 10 is also expected to feature facial recognition, support AR and 3D sensing. The price of the Huawei Mate 10 is expected to be around CNY 4,000 (roughly Rs. 38,500).
