LG G7 ThinQ to unveil on May 2: Here's everything you need to know

LG has now finally confirmed that the much-awaited LG G7 is launching in May. LG G7 ThinQ successor to the company's last year's flagship LG G6. Surprisingly, the company has also announced that they are changing the naming scheme for their upcoming flagship models. So, the upcoming LG G7 will now be called the LG G7 ThinQ.

The LG G7 ThinQ is set to launch on May 2 and the launch event will take place in New York. The company will also conduct another press event in South Korea on May 3 for the same.

ThinQ is LG's own AI platform that helps in communicating between different LG devices. As the LG G7 now has ThinQ in its name, it suggests that the flagship will have AI and machine learning capabilities. This is the second smartphone from LG to come with the ThinQ branding, first being the LG V30S ThinQ.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the LG G7 ThinQ is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. The smartphone will feature a 6-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. As per the leaked images, the smartphone will also have a notch up front. The device will pack in 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage. The LG G7 ThinQ will run on Android Oreo out of the box with LG's own UI layered on top of it.

On the optics front, the LG G7 ThinQ will sport a dual-camera setup at the back. Up front, there will be an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
