Meizu, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has launched a new budget-friendly smartphone with an 18:9 display. The Meizu M8c is currently available in Russia and the company has not shared any information on when the smartphone will make its way to the other markets.
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Meizu M8c features a 5.45-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. The device packs in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android Nougat and it is backed by a 3,070mAh battery.
On the optics front, there is a 13-megapixel with a LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
The Meizu M8c is currently priced at RUB 9,990 (roughly Rs. 11,000) and it is available only in Russia. Here are some alternatives that you can get in India right now.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is currently one of the best budget smartphones available in India. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The device features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is available at a starting price of Rs. 9,999.
Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) also serves as a great alternative to the Meizu M8c. The smartphone features a 5.99-inch 18:9 display and it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. The device packs in 3GB or 4GB of RAM coupled with 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) starts at a price of Rs. 10,999.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 offers similar specifications as seen on the Meizu M8c at a much lower price. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1440 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset. The device is available in three variants, 2GB+16GB, 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. As for the pricing, the 2GB+16GB variant is available for Rs. 7,999 while the 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB variants retail for Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 10,999 respectively.
