OnePlus 3 and 3T being a year old devices now are still being taken care of by the company. OnePlus has already promised the Android 8.0 Oreo and recent reports suggested that the company has already started working on it. With the new OnePlus 5, the company introduced a bunch of new features, some of which was because of the hardware while the others were just software tweaks. The company has finally decided to bring down those features to their last year's flagship smartphones. However, some of the new features have been there on the Open Beta version of OxygenOS available for the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

OnePlus has started rolling out the update and you should see a notification soon on your OnePlus 3/3T. Those using the stock version of OxygenOS without any root access will be greeted by an update sized 197MB. Users who have to download the whole firmware, it will cost around 1.5GB of data. Users expecting for a security patch might be disappointed as the August security patch remains with this new update.
Some of the new features brought by the OxygenOS 4.5.0 will have to be first activated within the settings of the smartphone. Lift Up display can be found under the Display tab of the settings page. Lift Up display allows the user to have a glance at the clock and notifications with turning on the whole display which may also help in saving battery as the OnePlus 3 and 3T come with an AMOLED display.
