Oppo A83 with AI technology launched in India: Price, Specifications and Availability

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Oppo, has launched another entry-level smartphone in India calling it the Oppo A83. According to Oppo, this smartphone uses “AI Beauty Recognition” technology which employs a cloud database from premium suppliers that have sufficient power to support diversified facial recognition in smart terminals.

Commenting on the launch, Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India said, "Our focus has always been on bringing best photography and Selfie experience to the Indian consumers. We have received an immense response for our Selfie Expert A Series and F Series. With the A83 we wish to bring an affordable selfie camera with advanced features such as the HD + Full Screen Display and AI Beauty Technology. The A83 truly represents our ambition to continue being the Selfie Expert and Leader in the market."

Specifications

The Oppo A83 features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1440x720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek 6763T processor clocked at 2.5GHz. The device packs in 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The Oppo A83 runs on ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Under the hood, there is a 3,180mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Oppo A83 sports a 13-megapixel camera at the back with f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie snapper.

Price and Availability

The Oppo A83 has launched with a price tag of Rs. 13,990. The smartphone will be available in Black and Gold colour variants. Interested buyers can head over to Amazon, Flipkart or any of the offline stores to grab one of these from January 20.
