Vivo X20 Plus UD with In-Display Fingerprint Scanner Launched: Price, Specifications and Availability

Smartphone giants have been working hard on achieving a great under display fingerprint sensor. The Chinese smartphone giant, Vivo has already achieved the much-anticipated project. The company showcased its first smartphone with an under display finger. Vivo is now making the smartphone official under the name Vivo X20 Plus UD. The fingerprint sensor is made by Synaptics and hides under the AMOLED display of the smartphone.

Specifications

The Vivo X20 Plus UD features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. The display comes with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. At the heart of the X20 Plus UD sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and a massive 128GB of onboard storage. Storage on the device is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Under the hood, there is a 3,900mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Vivo X20 Plus UD sports a dual camera setup at the back. The dual camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of  f/1.8 and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Vivo's most phones being selfie centric, this phone also comes with a 12-megapixel sensor up front with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also comes with features like face like.

Price and Availability

The Vivo X20 Plus UD comes at a price tag of CNY 3,598 (roughly Rs. 36,100). The smartphone is launched in China and will be available starting February 1. There is only one colour variant - Black (with gold accents). However, as of now there are no details on when the smartphone will be made available to other markets.

Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus get cashback offers of up to Rs. 12,000

Apple India has partnered up with HDFC Bank to bring down the prices of its iPhones. Customers who purchase select Apple products using HDFC Debit or Credit card can get up to Rs.12,000 cashback. The cashback offers are applicable to select models of iPhone, iPad, Mac and even the Apple Watch. To avail the offer, the customer needs to opt-in for the EMI option. However, Apple Watch buyers can even avail the offer also on non-EMI transactions. Notably, the offer is only available at offline stores.

Customers who purchase an iPhone X can get Rs. 12,000 cashback bring down its price to Rs. 80,430 from Rs. 92,430 for the 64GB variant. iPhone 8 and 8 Plus buyers get a cashback of Rs. 10,000. Older iPhones are also eligible for cashback offers like the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus get Rs. 3,000 cashback. Customers purchasing iPhone 6s or 6s Plus can get a cashback of Rs. 2,000 while the iPhone 6, iPhone SE and iPhone 5S buyers can avail a cashback of Rs. 1,000.

The offer is already available via offline stores and will available until March 11, 2018. The cashback will be credited to the customer's HDFC account within 90 working days.

Currently, Apple iPhone X and iPhone 8 series are available on discount via e-commerce websites like Flipkart and Amazon. Amazon India is also offering additional 10 percent cash back on purchases made via an HDFC card. Similarly, Flipkart is offering 10 percent cash back on Citibank Debit or Credit cards.

Vodafone and Flipkart offer 4G smartphones at just Rs. 999, Here's how to get one

Vodafone India now offers a 4G Android handset for as low as Rs. 999. The company in partnership with Flipkart has started a campaign called #MyFirst4GSmartphone. Under this campaign, Vodafone is offering cashback on select entry-level 4G smartphones. The offer starts today, January 24 and will be valid until March 31, 11:59 PM.

Commenting on the offer, Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director - Consumer Business, Vodafone India said, “We are delighted to partner with Flipkart and extend this offer to our existing and new pre-paid customers. This is an initiative to make 4G smartphones available at a never before price points and thus, democratize access to Vodafone SuperNet 4G. We hope that this will help fulfil the aspirations of several million phone users across the country who desire a smartphone but couldn’t afford one. It will also encourage current non-users of 4G to upgrade and enjoy a richer user experience with Vodafone SuperNet 4G.”

What's the offer?

Both existing, as well as new Vodafone customers, are eligible for the offer. In order to avail the offer, customers will have to purchase the smartphone via Flipkart. Once purchased, users need to make a recharge of at least Rs. 150 per month for 36 months. The user can decide to make the recharges all at once or on a monthly basis. After 18 months, user can claim a cash back of Rs. 900 and after a total of 36 months a cash back of Rs. 1,100. This makes a total cashback of Rs. 2,000.

Xiaomi, celebrating the Republic Day in India announces another price cut for Redmi Note 4. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was previously priced at Rs. 11,999 for the 64GB variant. The particular variant now gets a permanent price cut of Rs. 1,000. The price cut is effected only on the 64GB variant and not the 32GB variant. After the price cut, the Redmi Note 4 64GB is now available at Rs. 10,999. Redmi Note 4 can be purchased at this price via  Mi.com, Amazon India, and Flipkart. However, the price cut is not applicable for offline stores.

Specifications

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display. The resolution of the display is 1080x1920 pixels. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. This processor is coupled with the Adreno 506 GPU. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. Storage on the device is further expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The Redmi Note 4 currently runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Under the hood, there is a massive 4,100mAh battery powering up the internals.

On the optics front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 sports a 13-megapixel camera at the back. The rear camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and comes with a dual tone LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie snapper with a f/2.0 aperture.

Reliance Jio offers 50 percent more data under the Republic Day 2018 Offer

Reliance Jio has its own way of celebrating Republic Day with its customers. The company offers extra data at the same price as Republic Day offer. To start with, the packs where users used to 1GB per day, will now get 1.5GB per day. Similarly, there will be 2GB data offered instead of the usually 1.5GB per day pack. The basic plan of Rs. 98 also gets a validity boost where users will now get 28days instead of 14days.

Which packs are affected?

Most of the plans offered by Jio now have something extra to offer. Starting with the Rs. 98 plan, this now offers validity of 14days instead of 28days. Moving on to the per day plans, the Rs. 149 plan now offers 1.5GB data per day making a total of 42GB data in 28days. Further, the Rs. 349 and Rs. 399 plans now offer a total of 105GB and 126GB data for 70days and 84days respectively. The Rs. 449 pack now gets a boost from 91GB to 136GB for 91days.

Jio's 1.5GB per day plans have now been upgraded to 2GB per day. The Rs. 198 plan and Rs. 398 plan can now offer 56GB data and 140GB data for 28days and 70days respectively. Similarly, the Rs. 448 and Rs. 498 plans now provide users with a total of 168GB and 182GB for 84days and 91days respectively.

Notably, all these offers provide users with free voice also. In order to get the data pack, users will need to make the recharge on or after January 26. Interestingly, the new recharge pack will be queued and will come into effect once the current plan’s validity gets over.

Messaging giant, WhatsApp just a few days ago released the WhatsApp business for public usage. Now the WhatsApp Business app has debuted in India. The new app offers a simple way for the businesses. It helps them to communicate with their clients and customers in an easy manner. Facebook-owned WhatsApp unveiled its plans to launch a standalone app for business back in September last year. The new app for business is targetted at SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) has only arrived in a handful of markets till now. What's more interesting than this, is the app was tested in India and Brazil ahead of its public release.

The WhatsApp Business app is available for free download via Google Play in India. It is compatible with Android 4.0.3 or later only. However, it is still restricted to Android only. A similar app for iOS is expected soon enough.

The app also has live location sharing features to help customers find them a little easier. It also has end-to-end encryption to help business keep their secrets from leaking online.

As the results came out, Fortune selected ASUS as one of the leading companies in the computers segment. The company's ranking has been conducted in leading enterprise in the Computers category. Reaffirming its leading position once again in the industry, Asus continues to be a strong brand. It also has been recognized for delivering excellent products and services.

Survey Methodology

Fortune in a collaboration with Korn Ferry, also its partner helo the survey. This survey was for corporate reputation. Beginning with about 1500 candidates in line to win the award, Fortune narrowed it down. The top 1000 largest US companies were ranked by revenue. They were accompanied by non-US companies in Fortune's Global 500 database. All of these companies have revenues of $10 billion or more. Then the next step was to select the highest-revenue companies in each industry. This totaled to 680 in 29 countries. The top-rated companies then were picked from that pool of 680.

In order to determine the best-regarded companies in 52 industries, Korn Ferry asked executives, directors, and analysts to rate enterprises. This rating was done in their own industry on nine criteria. These criteria ranged from investment value and quality of management and products to social responsibility and ability to attract talent. Lenovo India has added another laptop to its portfolio in India. The Lenovo Yoga 920 Limited Edition is a 2-in-1 convertible laptop offering from the company. The laptop has a premium look and feels to it along with some premium set of features. This limited edition laptop offers a unique glass cover design.

The Yoga 920 comes with 16GB of DDR4 RAM. As for storage, the laptop comes with a 512GB SSD. The laptop weighs in at around 1.37 kg. It comes with JBL Speakers with integrated Dolby Atmos technology. The device also features a fingerprint reader with support to Windows Hello. The laptop also comes with Windows 10 Home pre-installed.
