Reliance Jio now offers 1.1TB of data in select cities: Here's what you need to know

After dominating India's 4G telecom services, Reliance Jio is now focusing on Broadband connections

Reliance Jio recently introduced fibre to the home (FTTH) broadband connections. The company is now offering 1.1TB of free data with every new connection and promises speed of 100mbps. However, the Reliance Jio FTTH Broadband service is currently available only in a few cities across the country.

The reports were brought up by The Hindu, where a source told them “The initial FTTH plan includes 100 gigabytes (GB) of free data at 100 Mbps speed; once the data limited is exhausted, the customers can do top-up of 40 GB of free data 25 times in a month, effectively meaning 1,100 GB of free data a month.”

According to the reports, anyone can apply for a JioFiber connection by just paying a refundable security deposit of Rs 4,500. However, the connection is currently available only in select markets.

Reliance Jio is currently expanding its business which was initially started as only 4G networks. The company will soon expand the availability of  FTTH Broadband connection across the country. Jio is also said to soon introduce internet protocol television (IPTV) services in India.

Meanwhile, Reliance Jio is currently offering Cricket Offer to its Jio 4G users. IPL Fans can recharge their Jio prepaid numbers with Rs. 251 to get a total of 102GB 4G data. Users will get 2GB data per day for a total of 51 days. However, the pack does not offer any calls or SMS messages as the pack is purely focused for users who want to watch IPL matches on the go.
