Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and S8+ to soon get Android 9 Pie based One UI Beta update

Samsung's last generation of flagship devices including Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ will soon be getting the One UI Beta update.

SAmsung Galaxy S8 will soon get the One UI Beta update

Samsung recently started rolling out the Android 9 Pie based One UI update for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Galaxy Note 9 users, on the other hand, are still stuck with Beta version of the OS. While the stable update is about to arrive, Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8/S8+ users will get the Beta update soon.

A recent report suggests that Samsung is currently testing out the builds G950FXXU4ZSA1, G955FXXU4ZSA1 and N950FXXU5ZSA1, which correlate to previous generation flagships Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 respectively. The letter "Z" in the build numbers suggest that they are under a beta program.

Unlike the Galaxy Note 9, beta builds for the previous generation are only being tested internally. However, this means that the company might soon start rolling out the Open Beta version for the public via their own Samsung Members application.

As for the changes, the new update will bring in Google's latest operating system, Android 9 Pie on board. One UI will make single-handed use easier for devices like Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8+. It also adds in features like Night Mode, Lift up to wake and much more.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is powered by the Exynos 8895 octa core processor. It packs in up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. All of this is backed by a 3,300mAh battery, which supports Adaptive Fast Charging.
