WhatsApp has been planning on introducing a lot of new features lately. The cross-platform messaging application has now introduced a new feature that allows users to share their location with their contacts in real time. The application already has a feature where users were able to share their location, but with this new update, they can share their exact location in real time. The new feature is dynamic and your contacts will be able to track down your current location even if you are not using the application actively.
The all-new live location sharing feature will be rolling out to Android and iOS devices and will be globally available as soon as it comes out. However, there is no word on when it will be releasing, but it might hit the supported devices soon.

Currently, when you need to share your location, one usually opens up the WhatsApp chat and tap on the attach icon on Android or the plus icon on iPhone. With the new update, one will get an option to share the location actively for a period of time which can be chosen from the presets which will include - 15 minutes, 1 hour (default), and 8 hours. One can also manually turn off the location sharing when wanted. Also, there will be a new option in the Accounts section of the Privacy settings that will give an overview of all WhatsApp chats you are sharing your live location in at the time.
