Xiaomi, a few months ago, launched the Xiaomi Mi A1 which is the first attempt by the company on an Android One device. The Mi A1 is the only offering by the company that runs on stock Android while most of the smartphones by the company run on MIUI which is a custom ROM built on top of Android. Xiaomi is now working on bringing the Android Oreo software update to the much popular Mi A1.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the Android Oreo Beta update for the Mi A1 weighs at around 1.1GB. The software update brings features of Android Oreo which include the picture-in-picture mode. The update also brings improvements to the performance of the device as well as the fingerprint scanner. Notably, this is the first major software update by Xiaomi for the Mi A1 since its launch. The Mi A1 currently runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and will be getting the stable version of Android Oreo by the end of this year.

In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. The mid-range smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,080mAh battery.
Meanwhile, Xiaomi has recently dropped the price of the popular Xiaomi Mi A1 by Rs. 1,000 making its current price at Rs. 13,999.
